MULTILIT book levels

Parents and teachers are sometimes at a loss to know which books to read with low-progress readers; when they are doing Reinforced Reading and using Pause, Prompt and Praise, for example.

The new MULTILIT Book Levels take away the guesswork by providing a list of books for each level for you to choose from.

There are two book level charts:

Real Books included in the MULTILIT Book Levels

These books are listed by level, author and title. This list is particularly helpful to parents, as most of these books can be borrowed from public libraries and school libraries or purchased.

MULTLIT Book Levels

This chart is aimed at teachers because it includes recommendations of various book series that schools can purchase and the levels within these series that coincide with the MULTILIT reading levels.

MULTILIT Book Levels: Towards a new system for levelling texts is an article you can read for more information about the new book levels. It was written by Sally Pearce, Kevin Wheldall and Alison Madelaine from Macquarie University Special Education Centre and was published in the 2006 Volume 15 No 1 issue of Special Education Perspectives.
