MULTILIT Professional training for teachers and other educational professionals

MULTILIT is committed to providing quality training and professional development to those who use our programs.

We currently offer a one-day Professional Training Workshop that has been updated in conjunction with the new 2007 edition of the MULTILIT Reading Tutor Program.

Our new three-day Accreditation course is compulsory for MULTILIT licensees.

MULTLIT professional training is conducted by the instructors who have extensive experience in delivering the MULTILIT Reading Tutor Program in a variety of settings.

Kyle Pitt, MULTILIT Professional Training Manager

Kyle has a Psychology Degree and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Special Education from Macquarie University. He has had extensive experience using the MULTILIT Reading Tutor Program in a variety of contexts including Macquarie University Special Education Centre in Sydney, and in MULTILIT Community Projects working with socially disadvantaged students, where he was the senior instructor.

Dr Alison Madelaine, Senior MULTILIT Consultant

Alison teaches postgraduate units in Effective Literacy Instruction and Special Education Research Methods. In 2003, Alison was awarded a PhD for her thesis entitled “Curriculum-based measurement of reading and teacher judgment of reading performance”. Her current academic interests include reading instruction, reading fluency, book levelling and curriculum-based measurement of reading and writing. Alison has had recent classroom experience teaching disadvantaged students with learning disabilities in South Carolina, USA.

At present, Alison works as a Senior MULTILIT Consultant to the MULTILIT Schoolwise and Redfern Tutorial Centre Programs in Sydney, and the MULTILIT Coen Project in Queensland, as well as providing professional development in reading and classroom management.
